Indie Nashville: Resident Scout Debut

We don’t get a lot of submissions from Nashville and, not being a country fan, I was a bit hesitant to even listen to these songs. That was a dumb move.

Fronted by Hobey Kuhn, Resident Scout is influenced by bands like Cold War Kids, Spoon, 90s grunge and alternative, so he’s not your typical Nashville rocker.

Has Resident Scout completely avoided the late-night honky tonk of Nashville bars and booze on all their songs? Probably not, assuming Kuhn has a fake I.D., but that’s OK. Don’t forget all you too-cool-for-school-indie-rockers, Alex Chilton spent plenty of time in Nashville.

Speaking of which, The Nashville edition of Deli Magazine recently ranked Kuhn in their indie local charts. Not bad, especially if you’re still only seventeen years old. Bottom line: If you don’t want to party with Resident Scout then you suck.
